- This role is located at our site in Houston, TX (Clear Lake area)
- Occasional Travel (up to 10%) may be required
- Recruit, mentor, and develop a high performing mechanical engineering team.
- Conduct regular coaching, performance reviews, and development planning.
- Foster a diverse, inclusive, and collaborative work environment aligned with Liva Nova’s values.
- Provide functional mechanical engineering support across active product development programs.
- Ensure appropriate allocation of engineering resources, capabilities, and technical oversight to project teams.
- Collaborate with project heads and program managers to define requirements, scope of work, and mitigate technical risks.
- Drive the application of sound engineering fundamentals (e.g., design controls, design for manufacturability, tolerance analysis, material selection, test method development).
- Ensure adherence to applicable quality management system (QMS) requirements, including design controls, risk management, and documentation standards.
- Support and/or lead corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Champion a culture of quality, safety, and compliance in all engineering activities.
- BS in Mechanical Engineering, or Bio-Engineering or related field.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
- Demonstrated experience developing complex electromechanical systems.
- Strong understanding of manufacturing processes such as machining, injection molding, additive manufacturing, and assembly.
- Experience developing Class II or Class III implantable medical devices.
- Proven ability to apply structured problem solving techniques and sound engineering judgment.
- Ability to build effective working relationships across functions (R&D, Quality, Regulatory, Clinical, Operations).
- Experience operating within a regulated environment and following a formal QMS.
- Strong alignment with Liva Nova’s mission, vision, strategic imperatives, and human imperatives.
- A reasonable estimate of the annual base salary for this position is $130,000 - $155,000 plus discretionary annual bonus. Pay ranges may vary by location and are awarded based on experience.
