About This Role
Intermountain Electric Inc. (IME) is seeking a BIM/VDC Detailer II to join their dynamic electrical construction team.
Key Responsibilities- Assist in the implementation of BIM processes and methodologies within assigned projects. Follow and contribute to BIM execution plans for projects, ensuring compliance with industry standards and project requirements.
- Utilize BIM software (such as Revit, Navisworks) to create detailed 3D models of electrical systems and components. Coordinate with other trades (mechanical, plumbing, structural, etc.) to ensure clash‑free designs and seamless integration of electrical systems. Generate accurate 2D drawings, schematics, and shop drawings from BIM models for construction documentation.
- Collaborate with BIM/VDC Lead, project managers, and field teams to review and refine design concepts, identifying opportunities for optimization and value engineering.
- Participate in training programs and support project teams on BIM and VDC best practices. Stay updated on industry trends and advancements in BIM/VDC technologies, recommending improvements as needed.
Additional duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities- Practical application of BIM/VDC software in Autodesk Revit, Navisworks, and other relevant tools.
- Intermediate level understanding of construction processes and project life cycles.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
- Analytical mindset with attention to detail.
- Experience with cloud‑based collaboration platforms.
- Minimum 2 years experience in BIM/VDC.
- Associate or bachelor’s degree in architecture, engineering, construction management, computer‑aided drafting, or a related field; or a relevant combination of education and experience.
- Electrical construction experience desired.
- Certifications in BIM/VDC‑related technologies a plus.
The majority of the time is spent in a typical office environment; the remainder is on construction job sites. Site conditions include extreme temperatures, noise, dust, mud, debris, welding, trenching, shoring, and occasional confined spaces. Employees may be required to visit multiple locations in a single day.

Salary Range$64,000 – $92,000 per year. Final salary and rates are based on education, experience, skills relevant to the role, and internal equity.
