HDR is seeking a Structural Engineer to join our Building Engineering Services team in Omaha, NE.
In this role, you will:
- Review structural documents for conflicts with all disciplines.
- Write and edit structural specifications, select procedures, materials and sizes, and complete necessary calculations.
- Independently coordinate the work of the structural design team through the design development and contract document phases.
- Establish meetings and participate in reviews with governing agencies for code compliance.
- Conduct design development and contract document work sessions at project sites in conjunction with the Project Manager and other disciplines.
- Coordinate workload to complete documents on schedule during design development and construction phases.
- Assist affected disciplines with addenda, requests for information, change proposal requests, and change orders, incorporating agreed changes.
- Perform other duties as needed.
- Bachelor's degree in Civil/Structural Engineering or Architectural Engineering with structural emphasis.
- A minimum of 3 years of structural engineering experience.
- Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
- Professional engineering license recognized by the licensing board in the location of the position (PE or P.Eng).
- Previous structural engineer experience.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, AutoCAD, RISA, Staad, SAP, Tedds, RAM, ETABS, SAFE, or similar software.
- Experience with an architectural/engineering or engineering consulting firm.
- A commitment to actively participate in an employee‑owned culture.
