POSITION SUMMARY

The Manufacturing Engineer II is a problem‑solver, facilitator, change agent, innovator, resource, designer, and project manager. Responsible for performing these functions on issues as they are assigned (or arise) in the designated area.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

  • Successfully complete small to medium‑sized projects of medium complexity with less clearly defined goals/scope and provide concise project progress reports.
  • Evaluate need, analyze options, develop a plan, develop an Appropriation Request (AR), and manage implementation of projects until completed within the allotted time frame.
  • Assist and guide support personnel (technicians, maintenance, tool and die, etc.) in technical matters as needed.
  • Develop, install, and maintain optimum processes for the safe manufacture of quality product in a productive manner.
  • Develop procedures and provide training on new processes, tools, and equipment, including preventive and predictive maintenance requirements and mechanical evaluation of processes and equipment.
  • Coordinate successful corrections to production problems using manufacturing engineering problem‑solving techniques and practices.
  • When needed, develop alternate methods or processes to allow emergency continued production, evaluating alternate solutions using engineering economy techniques.
  • Demonstrate regular attendance and timeliness in reporting to work, meetings, and completing assignments.
  • Work well with others and interact well with others.
OTHER JOB FUNCTIONS

General industrial engineering functions as necessary.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in engineering or another related field. Mechanical engineering preferred.
  • Experience: Minimum of 1 year of applicable engineering experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
  • Required Skills: Intermediate Microsoft Office skills. Good written and oral communication. Excellent organizational skills. Ability to develop plans for accomplishing assigned work and set priorities with a sense of urgency. Ability to make timely decisions. Average to above average PC skills.
  • Preferred

    Skills:

    Knowledge of machine programming systems. Knowledge of CAD/DSS such as AutoCAD and Inventor.
SPECIAL DEMANDS

Ability to travel to other facilities and/or training locations as necessary.
