Palmer Group's client is seeking an Application Engineer to support product platforms by translating customer requirements into manufacturable system designs. This role works closely with Sales, Engineering, and Manufacturing to develop customized solutions based on existing product lines, including preparing drawings, validating designs, and supporting implementation. The position is highly collaborative and focused on configuring and adapting established systems to meet specific application needs.

What You Will Do:
  • Review customer specifications and align product capabilities to application requirements
  • Develop detailed 2D and 3D drawings, layouts, and schematics using CAD tools
  • Create and maintain bills of materials and design documentation
  • Analyze technical requirements to produce manufacturable, practical designs
  • Collaborate with Sales, Manufacturing, and Quality teams on design solutions
  • Support Engineering Change Orders (ECOs) and corrective actions
  • Provide technical support to the production floor and assist with system commissioning
  • Interpret and apply relevant regulatory codes and standards (UL, NEC, NFPA)
What You Will Need to Be Successful:
  • Associate degree in mechanical design, electrical design, engineering technology, or related field; or equivalent experience
  • 3-5 years of experience in mechanical or application engineering within a manufacturing-related environment
  • Proficiency with Solid Works and AutoCAD (or similar CAD platforms)
  • Experience creating drawings, layouts, and bills of materials
  • Familiarity with industrial equipment, material handling, or similar systems preferred
  • Understanding of mobile electrification systems or comparable technologies is a plus
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work across cross-functional teams
