SCHEMMER is seeking a Registered Land Surveyor to lead and support a variety of land surveying projects across commercial, municipal, and infrastructure markets. This role is responsible for overseeing survey projects, ensuring technical accuracy, and contributing to project delivery from field data collection through final plats and client deliverables.
This position offers the opportunity to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams, mentor staff, and play a key role in maintaining high-quality standards across projects.
Key Responsibilities- Lead and manage land surveying projects, including boundary, topographic, ALTA/NSPS, and construction surveys
- Review and certify survey documents, plats, and legal descriptions
- Oversee field crews and provide technical guidance to ensure accuracy and efficiency
- Coordinate with engineers, architects, and project managers to support integrated project delivery
- Ensure compliance with state and local regulations, standards, and licensing requirements
- Manage project schedules, budgets, and client communication for survey-related work
- Mentor and develop junior survey staff and field personnel
- Professional Land Surveyor (PLS) or Registered Land Surveyor (RLS) license in Nebraska (or ability to obtain via reciprocity)
- Associates Degree required. Bachelor’s degree in Surveying, Geomatics, or related field preferred
- 5+ years of progressive land surveying experience, including project leadership
- Strong knowledge of boundary law, survey principles, and industry standards (ALTA/NSPS, etc.)
- Proficiency with survey software (e.g., Civil 3D, Trimble Business Center, or similar)
- Experience with GPS, robotic total stations, and data collection technology. Drone experience a plus.
- Strong communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills
