General Responsibilities:

We are seeking a motivated and organized Laboratory Coordinator to assist in leading daily operations within our Construction Materials Testing (CMT) laboratory.

This role oversees laboratory workflow, quality standards, team coordination, and operational efficiency while fostering a culture centered on safety, accountability, and continuous improvement.

Essential

Roles and Responsibilities:

Laboratory Operations

* Assist the laboratory manager coordinating daily laboratory testing activities for soils, concrete, asphalt, and aggregates.

* Ensure testing is completed accurately and in compliance with ASTM, DOT, and project specifications.

* Review laboratory reports, documentation, and quality records for accuracy and completeness.

* Assist with troubleshooting equipment, testing procedures, and operational issues.

* Performs construction and geotechnical related laboratory testing

Leadership Acumen & Team Development

* Model the behaviors, professionalism, and culture you expect from our team.

* Lead and support laboratory staff through coaching, communication, and accountability.

* Prioritize workloads and coordinate schedules to meet client and project deadlines.

* Foster a professional, team-oriented environment focused on quality and continuous improvement.

* Serve as a strong representative of the organization with clients, field teams, and internal partners.

Administrative & Communication

* Maintain organized laboratory records, certifications, and documentation.

* Support inventory management and ordering of laboratory supplies and materials.

* Communicate testing updates and operational priorities with project teams and leadership.

Requirements:

* High school diploma or equivalent required;
Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Technology, Geology, or related field preferred.

* Minimum of 5 years of experience in construction materials testing laboratory operations.

* Knowledge of ASTM, AASHTO, and DOT testing standards.

* Experience with laboratory quality systems and accreditation processes preferred.

* Relevant certifications such as ACI, NICET, or DOT certifications preferred.

* Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.

* Proficiency with Microsoft Office and laboratory reporting software.
