Position OverviewOur mission is to make a difference and we offer opportunities for you to make one too. We depend on our passionate, skilled, and safety‑minded construction professionals to get it done right. You bring your big ideas, commitment to top quality, and an unwavering work ethic. In return, we offer huge career and travel opportunities with the satisfaction of building the next big thing from the ground up (or under).
There’s a reason Kiewit attracts the best: we offer fast‑paced excitement and fulfilment you won’t find anywhere else. In addition, we look to hire you to join the entire Kiewit family for a career. This is not just a job, single project, or steppingstone.
You will be required to perform engineering work in connection with a wide variety of underground projects that range in size, difficulty, and duration. You will also be involved in the district estimating unit at various points in your career, which involves quantity takeoffs, time studies, cost estimating, participating in estimate reviews and bid close‑out.
District OverviewThe Underground District has been constructing underground facilities for over 70 years and is recognized as a leader in the tunneling industry. We have completed more than 100 underground‑related projects totaling more than several billion dollars. Our work includes projects related to transportation, water/wastewater, environmental facilities, power, mining, and telecommunications.
We incorporate state‑of‑the‑art technology with proven construction methods to ensure excellence and ongoing success. Kiewit’s decentralized organizational structure allows us to compete both locally and nationally.
Please keep in mind that we are an Underground Construction business, so chances are that a majority of your day will be spent working Underground. Services include TBM Rock, TBM Soft Ground, Sequential Excavation, Drill and Blast, Shaft Excavation, Concrete, Tunnel Rehab, and numerous Trenchless Methods.
LocationOne of the many things that makes Kiewit’s culture unique is that we go where the work is, which exposes your career to abundant opportunities. We want to hire you to build your career, – not just for a single project!
Right now, our expectation would be for you to be based in Omaha, NE, Baltimore, MD or South‑East, TX.
