Job Description
M-F 8:00 am – 5:00 pm.
Hybrid position with a minimum of 2 days in the Omaha office.

ResponsibilitiesResponsible for a variety of tasks related to the design, installation, and administration of computer networks, including enterprise wireless networks. Focus on architecture, engineering, and analytic methods.
- Creates complete network architectures that provide end‑to‑end application solutions and recommends how network systems could evolve to maintain compatibility with industry standards.
- Provides analysis, design, and oversight of network and/or systems architecture and configuration.
- Leads technical projects according to Children’s Project Management methodology and documents activities per standards.
- Obtains candidate solutions based on identified requirements, evaluates them against measurable parameters, and recommends preferred solutions.
- Deploys new data network components, designs and configures related systems, and creates test plans, procedures, and documentation; coordinates with Operations for deployment, testing, and training.
- Develops, implements, promotes, and enforces the fullest scope of architectural responsibility for all network and telecommunications systems.
- Provides technical expertise for troubleshooting, operational guidelines, system capacity and performance analysis, configuration optimization, and mentors less senior staff.
- Maintains department applications and databases, ensures latest versions, secures maintenance support, maintains Active Directory oversight, and guides Helpdesk.
- Regular attendance at work is essential.
- Performs physical requirements as described in the Physical Requirements section.
Participates in on‑call schedule.
Education & QualificationsBachelor’s degree in Networking, Computer Science, or a related field is required. Equivalent work experience may substitute for education.
- Minimum five years of experience maintaining and operating PCs, network operating systems, and communication devices.
- Minimum five years of experience engineering and designing communication and network solutions (preferred).
- Database maintenance skills are required; additional skills may be required based on departmental need.
- Plan, design, and engineer local and wide area networks.
- Manage technical projects from design to implementation.
- Know principles of network administration, LAN/WAN, personal computers, and peripherals.
- Know file servers, network switches, and other LAN/WAN devices.
- Operate and maintain file servers, PCs, routers, switches, network OS, and applications.
- Apply Microsoft products in the work environment.
- Generate and interpret test results.
- Execute procedures and plans that facilitate operational changes.
- Communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
- Build strong interpersonal and team‑building skills.
- Plan, organize, manage time, and prioritize tasks effectively.
- Microsoft or Cisco certifications are preferred.
- Work after hours and on weekends as needed is an expectation of the job.
