Job Description Lead Electrical Estimator

Gpac is a national executive search firm specializing in recruitment for the electrical construction industry. We are excited to announce an opportunity for a Lead Electrical Estimator to join a reputable electrical contractor.

Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Oversee the estimating procedures for large-scale commercial, industrial, and institutional electrical projects
  • Analyze project specifications, drawings, and scope to develop bids that are both thorough and competitive
  • Perform meticulous take-offs to ensure precise material and labor cost estimations
  • Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and field teams for the smooth execution of projects
  • Utilize historical cost data and supplier pricing to enhance estimating precision
  • Participate in pre-bid meetings and site visits to confirm project conditions
  • Establish and nurture relationships with vendors, subcontractors, and clients for favorable pricing
  • Guide and mentor junior estimators in their work
  • Explore value engineering solutions to maximize cost efficiency
  • Ensure compliance with company standards and industry regulations in all estimates
Qualifications:
  • Minimum of 7 years of estimating experience with an electrical contractor
  • Deep understanding of estimating for commercial, industrial, and institutional projects
  • Expertise in estimating software, such as Accubid, McCormick, or Conest
  • Strong grasp of electrical systems, construction methods, and cost management
  • Ability to accurately interpret blueprints, specifications, and contracts
  • Exceptional analytical, organizational, and communication skills
  • Consistent work history
  • Prior experience in a senior estimating or leadership role
