We invite you to join us as a Highway/Roadway Project Manager in our Des Moines, Iowa office where you’ll bring your expertise, intuition, and leadership forward in the planning, directing, and execution of our transportation projects in Iowa.
As a vital member of our team, you’ll work on challenging projects, showcasing your expertise in planning, directing, and monitoring all aspects of projects.
You’ll grow professionally with us as we tackle high‑complexity projects from concept through detailed design and construction services. You’ll build a multidisciplinary design team to deliver tasks within established schedules and budgets, while advancing our business development strategies.
Here's what you'll need- Bachelor's degree in Urban Planning, Civil Engineering, Transportation Engineering or a related discipline
- Professional engineering (PE) licensure in the State of Iowa
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey complex ideas clearly to clients, agencies, and the public
- Demonstrated progressive experience as an engineer and a project manager in the transportation design field
- Relationships and experience delivering projects for the Iowa Department of Transportation
- Demonstrated knowledge of transportation infrastructure projects
- Strong client‑facing project manager with skills delivering design projects and can bring a team together
- Skilled in developing and delivering technical presentations to stakeholders, regulatory agencies, and/or the public
- Demonstrated initiative and ability to work independently as a self‑starter
- Well‑rounded technical design skills encompassing all contributing disciplines
- 15+ years of experience in transportation planning or a closely related field
- Experience delivering projects for the South Dakota Department of Transportation and professional licensure in South Dakota or the ability to obtain licensure
- Experience utilizing Bentley design software such as Open Roads Designer
- Experience in assisting with business development efforts
- Ability and interest in mentoring junior‑level staff

The base salary range for this position is $ to $. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job‑related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
