Civil Engineer – Contract-to-Hire
Our client is seeking an experienced Civil Engineer for a contract-to-hire opportunity in Omaha, Nebraska. This role is ideal for a senior-level civil engineering professional with strong site development expertise, advanced Civil 3D capabilities, and the ability to lead multidisciplinary site civil efforts in a fast-paced project environment.
Key Responsibilities- Lead and support site development, site master planning, and site selection activities
- Perform underground utility routing and site space planning
- Conduct hydrology analysis and design storm drainage systems
- Analyze and design gravity wastewater collection systems
- Develop final grading plans including cut/fill analysis and earthwork balancing
- Prepare erosion and sediment control plans and stormwater pollution prevention plans (SWPPP)
- Support permitting efforts and coordinate with local agencies and Authorities Having Jurisdiction (AHJ)
- Perform stormwater analysis and modeling using software such as StormCAD and Civil Storm
- Collaborate remotely with multidisciplinary engineering teams to support project execution
- Lead site civil engineering tasks while managing multiple priorities and deadlines
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related discipline
- 15+ years of civil engineering experience
- Professional Engineer (PE) license required
- Advanced proficiency with Civil 3D required
- Strong experience with site development and utility design
- Experience leading site civil teams on complex engineering projects
- Data Center project experience preferred, but not required
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment with aggressive project schedules
- Experience coordinating with permitting agencies and AHJs
- Knowledge of stormwater management and hydrologic modeling software
- Strong understanding of grading, drainage, and utility coordination
- Ability to work independently while supporting distributed project teams
