Job Description

Olsson provides multidisciplinary design services for some of the largest and most forward‑thinking and desirable companies in the world to work for. We design large hyperscale data center campuses and colocation data centers throughout the U.S. This role will give you the opportunity to work on some of the largest and most complex engineering‑driven projects being built today. Our clients are relationship‑based and truly value the work we do for them, affording us the opportunity to contribute to society’s technological and connected community through the design of the critical infrastructure that is the foundation of these projects.

A Senior Civil Designer with a grading & utility focus will work in a collaborative team environment on multi‑disciplinary complex projects. You will collaborate closely with licensed engineers on plans and calculations, utilizing your expertise in Civil 3D and CAD software. In addition to sheet production work, you will independently design utilities and surfaces under the oversight of an Engineer. You will need advanced skills in Civil 3D and CAD software to create accurate and efficient design solutions and develop detailed drawings and models to communicate design intent effectively.

A Senior Civil Designer for this team will frequently design utilizing Pipe Networks, Pressure Pipe Networks, and Surfaces containing Corridors, and Feature Lines. Projects for this team start at roughly 20 acres and often exceed 200 acres for a single campus.

This role includes flexible work options to accommodate diverse working preferences and promote work‑life balance. Candidates may be located at any Olsson office, hybrid, or fully remote in various locations of the U.S.

Responsibilities

Oversee the design and development of civil infrastructure, including grading, utilities, surfaces, and corridors. Produce detailed drawings, models, and calculations in Civil 3D and CAD. Coordinate work with licensed engineers and team members to ensure accuracy and compliance with project requirements.

  • Strong communication skills

  • Associate’s degree in drafting or related field (preferred)
  • 8 or more years of expertise in drafting and design
  • Experience in surface creation, analysis, utility design, and BIM coordination
  • Proficiency in Civil 3D software
Salary

Colorado Pay Range: $78,000—$103,000 USD
