Role Description

This is a full‑time, on‑site BIM Specialist role based in the Omaha Metropolitan Area. The BIM Specialist will develop, coordinate, and maintain detailed BIM models for mechanical and plumbing systems across a variety of project types. Daily responsibilities include collaborating with project managers, engineers, and field teams to support constructible 3D models, shop drawings, and coordinated layouts. The role involves reviewing and integrating architectural and MEP information, assisting with clash detection and resolution, and preparing submittal drawings and documentation in accordance with project specifications.

The BIM Specialist will also support model updates during construction, assist with as‑built documentation, and help improve internal BIM standards and workflows.

Qualifications
  • Proficiency in Building Information Modeling (BIM) and BIM Coordination, with experience creating and managing detailed 3D models for construction projects.
  • Understanding of Architecture and Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) systems, with the ability to interpret plans, specifications, and shop drawings.
  • Experience preparing and managing Submittals, including drawing packages and related documentation for review and approval.
  • Strong skills in relevant BIM and CAD software (e.g., Revit, Navisworks, AutoCAD or similar tools), and comfort working in a collaborative, model‑based environment.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with project managers, engineers, and field staff, and to support coordination meetings and clash detection efforts.
  • Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines in a construction‑focused environment.
  • Associate’s or bachelor’s degree in drafting, engineering technology, construction management, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Experience in mechanical or plumbing contracting, design‑build projects, or commercial/industrial construction is preferred.
