Position: Capital Project Engineer (Fluid Handling)

Palmer Group has an exciting direct-hire opportunity for you! Join this established client's team as a Mechanical Engineer (Fluid Handling) and become part of a leading company in the industry! Your responsibilities will include designing fluid blending, storage, and handling systems, managing projects to support company expansion and cost reduction, and identifying opportunities to boost productivity. Work Model:
  • On-Site
  • The preferred location would be based out of Omaha, Nebraska, but could also be based out of other locations in West Virginia, North Carolina, Massachusetts, Texas, Alabama, Wisconsin, or Oregon
What You Will Do:
  • Design fluid blending, storage, and handling systems
  • Manage engineering and capital projects, controlling scope, budget, and schedules
  • Support company expansion through process improvements and cost reduction initiatives
  • Identify opportunities to increase productivity and operational efficiency
  • Improve plant equipment, instrumentation, and production processes
  • Select, configure, and specify fluid handling, measurement, piping, and pump systems
  • Develop layouts and designs for production equipment and facility operations
  • Estimate engineering, material, and labor requirements for project execution
  • Oversee project implementation and ensure systems meet performance specifications
  • Provide technical guidance, maintain engineering standards, and drive continuous improvement
What You Will Need to Be Successful:
  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical or chemical engineering preferred
  • Experience in fluid handling design
  • Experience in capital project management
  • Experience with equipment vendors and contractors
  • Proficiency in 3D CAD applications (AutoCAD & Revit preferred)
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Ability to analyze data for process improvements
  • Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification would be beneficial
