Civil Engineer
Job Description
This is an active civil engineering role that focuses on land development, site design, and stormwater management across all phases of a project. You will contribute to planning, technical analysis, design, construction administration, and project oversight while working closely with a small, collaborative team. The position offers the opportunity to work on a variety of projects and to be directly involved from concept through construction.
Responsibilities
+ Plan and execute civil engineering tasks related to land development, site design, and stormwater management.
+ Perform technical analysis to support project planning, design decisions, and construction activities.
+ Prepare clear, accurate, and professional technical writing, including reports, specifications, and project documentation.
+ Develop civil engineering designs using AutoCAD Civil 3D, including site layouts, grading, utilities, and stormwater systems.
+ Prepare opinions of probable construction cost to support project budgeting and decision-making.
+ Provide construction administration services, including reviewing submittals, responding to requests for information, and supporting field personnel.
+ Participate in on-site inspections and job site visits to observe construction progress and verify compliance with design documents.
+ Collaborate and coordinate with company leaders and peers to ensure projects meet technical, schedule, and client requirements.
+ Support project management activities by communicating effectively with internal teams and external stakeholders.
+ Travel as needed for team meetings, client meetings, on-site inspections, and job site visits.
Essential Skills
+ Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering.
+ Successful completion of the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam.
+ 0-5 years of civil engineering experience in areas such as land development, site development, and stormwater management.
+ Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D for civil design and drafting.
+ Strong understanding of civil engineering principles related to site development and stormwater systems.
+ Ability to perform technical analysis and develop practical engineering solutions.
+ Effective written communication skills for technical writing and documentation.
+ Ability to travel as needed for meetings, inspections, and job site visits.
+ Collaborative mindset with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.

Experience with land development engineering and site design projects.
+ Familiarity with stormwater management design and best practices.
+ General proficiency with AutoCAD and other civil design tools.
+ Ability to coordinate with multidisciplinary teams and stakeholders.
+ Strong organizational skills and attention to detail in both design and documentation.
+ Interest in working in a small, family-feel team environment with exposure to a variety of project types.
Work Environment
The role is based in an open office environment that encourages collaboration and frequent interaction with peers and leaders. The pace is fast and driven by client needs, providing exposure to multiple projects and priorities. You will work closely with a team of approximately 15 people, fostering a family feel and supportive culture. The position involves periodic travel for team meetings, client meetings, on-site inspections, and job site visits, allowing you to see projects through from design to construction.
Job Type & Location
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Omaha, NE.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $80000.00 - $85000.00/hr.
