Senior Quality Engineer

The Senior Quality Engineer will oversee quality initiatives, analyze root causes, aid in new product introductions, and ensure our products consistently surpass customer expectations. Working with various teams and stakeholders, the Senior Quality Engineer will strive to enhance processes, uphold ISO 9001 standards, spearhead quality enhancement projects, and promote a culture of Quality Planning. This role entails establishing controls to verify that welded, machined, and formed metal products adhere to engineering specifications, welding regulations, and customer standards.

The Senior Quality Engineer will drive advanced product quality planning efforts and ensure inspection and testing plans are developed, implemented, and maintained within the manufacturing setting.

Job Duties & Responsibilities of the Senior Quality Engineer:
  • Participates in and leads Quality activities in advanced product quality planning (APQP).
  • Create and maintain dashboards and QA systems.
  • Develop control plans, PFMEA, and Quality plans for existing or new products/projects.
  • Supervise Product and Process qualifications such as CPK studies and Gage R&R.
  • Monitor performance and trends of Rejects and CARs for assigned area.
  • Lead Advanced Quality methodologies (DMAIC, 8D, Mistake Proofing, Process Control, etc.) throughout the organization.
  • Drive advanced root cause analyses.
  • Oversee QMS Certification compliance.
  • Manage assigned Audit Schedule.
  • Standardize processes and tools.
  • Lead KATA, Coaches, & Value Stream Maps.
  • Lead global quality endeavors.
  • Oversee design for quality initiatives.
  • Handle escalations from various departments as needed.
  • Supervise employees and manage their workloads.
  • Train Quality Team members on essential Quality tools.
  • Conduct reviews and offer guidance on individual development and training needs.
  • Mentor engineers to foster skill development.
Education & Experience Requirements of the Senior Quality Engineer:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering; and four or more years of relevant experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Certified Quality Engineer for 2+ years.
  • 3+ years of hands-on experience in APQP (Advanced Product Quality Planning) is desired.
  • Thorough understanding of mechanical systems, weldments, assemblies, and fabrication.
  • Mechanical proficiency to assemble/disassemble based on engineering blueprints.
  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings and proficiency in GD&T.
  • Expertise in failure analysis and root cause investigation methods (3L5

    Ws, Fishbone, Fault Tree).
  • Extensive experience in Corrective Actions, 8

    Ds, MRBs, and Rapid Response Activities.
