Position: Due Diligence Professional (Field Scientist/Geologist/Engineer)

Terracon’s Nebraska Region is seeking a motivated Geologist, Engineer, or Scientist to join our growing environmental Due Diligence team. The position can be located in either our Lincoln, NE or Omaha, NE office. In this role, you will support a variety of projects, including Phase I and Phase II Environmental Site Assessments, limited site investigations, brownfield redevelopment projects, and related environmental consulting assignments.

You’ll have the opportunity to conduct field work, collect and evaluate soil and groundwater samples, research public records, coordinate with regulatory agencies, and prepare clear, client-focused technical reports. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys a mix of field work, technical problem-solving, client service, and collaboration with experienced environmental professionals.

Roles and Responsibilities

A strong candidate is curious, adaptable, detail-oriented, and comfortable working in a fast-paced team environment. Further, you will be responsible for:

  • following Terracon’s safety rules, guidelines, and standards; participating in pre-task planning; and communicating safety questions or concerns promptly.
  • maintaining quality standards across projects while developing practical experience in site assessment, field data collection, sampling, technical documentation, and client communication.
  • consulting with other technical professionals and supervisor on routine and complex projects.
  • performing site visits and field observations, implementing project-specific technical requirements, evaluating laboratory and field data, preparing proposals and reports for senior review, and participating in client and project team meetings.
Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, geology, hydrogeology, environmental science orrelated field and up to 1 year experience.
  • Strong organization and technical writing skills.
  • Valid driver’s license with acceptable history.
  • Ability to travel out of town on as needed basis.
