PE-Backed CFO - Food Manufacturing | Omaha, NE
Finatal has been exclusively retained by a private equity sponsor to appoint a Chief Financial Officer for a PE-backed food manufacturing business undergoing a significant operational and financial transformation.
This is a high-impact CFO opportunity within an established manufacturing business with strong customer relationships, scaled operations, and meaningful upside. The business is early in its transformation following a 2024 acquisition and is now entering the most critical phase: cost reduction, margin expansion, cash stabilization, and execution.
You will partner directly with the CEO and private equity sponsor as a core member of the leadership team, taking ownership of the finance function while working closely with operations and commercial leadership to drive performance. This is a hands‑on role suited for an operationally oriented CFO who thrives in turnaround environments and wants to help build a success story.
This role is best suited for a PE-experienced CFO with a strong manufacturing background, a bias toward action, and the credibility to lead through complexity and change.

- Own cash management, liquidity forecasting, and working capital performance in a constrained environment

- Continue refining accounting, standard costing, and reporting discipline
- Oversee finance systems and support readiness for a future ERP transition
- Build, lead, and develop the finance organization over time
- Proven CFO or senior finance leadership experience in a PE-backed environment (required)
- Background in food & beverage manufacturing (required)
- Demonstrated experience in turnaround, cost reduction, and operational finance
- Strong cash management and liquidity oversight experience
- Hands‑on leadership style with comfort operating on‑site and close to the business
- Exit experience a plus, but not required
- Omaha-based, willing to relocate, or travel weekly: significant on‑site presence expected
