IAMS Wealth Management is an SEC-Registered Investment Advisor (RIA) providing full-service back-office and investment platform solutions to independent advisors across the United States. As our advisor network and assets under management continue to scale, we are expanding our operations team to support increased trading volume, advisor complexity, and service expectations.

We are seeking a Trading & Operations Director to join our operations team. This role will be heavily involved in day-to-day investment operations and trading support, with the expectation that the individual can serve as a qualified backup trader while also supporting broader operational workflows.

Role Overview

The Trading & Investment Operations Director will work closely with advisors, portfolio management, trading, and internal operations teams to ensure accurate, timely, and compliant execution of investment-related workflows. This role is ideal for an experienced RIA operations professional who enjoys being close to the investment process, thrives in a high-accountability environment, and wants to grow into a leadership role within a scaling firm.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support and build strong working relationships with advisors to ensure a high-quality service experience
  • Process and oversee new account openings, transfers of assets, deposits, and ongoing account maintenance
  • Respond to advisor requests via phone and email in a timely, professional, and solutions-oriented manner
  • Proactively identify and resolve NIGO items to keep accounts and trades moving efficiently
  • Assist with trade execution, model implementation, rebalancing, and cash management as needed
  • Serve as a qualified backup trader, supporting continuity of trading operations during peak periods or absences
  • Ensure accuracy of investment and operational workflows, including suitability, documentation, and compliance
  • Train advisors and their staff on operational processes, trading workflows, and platform tools
  • Cross‑train across key operational areas including advisor onboarding, billing, and sales support
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field preferred, or equivalent combination of education and industry experience
  • 3+ years of experience in RIA operations, trading, or investment operations (required)
  • Series 65 license required (or willingness to obtain)
  • Demonstrated understanding of advisory products, brokerage operations, and SEC regulatory requirements
  • Prior exposure to portfolio trading, rebalancing, and investment workflows strongly preferred
  • Experience working with Charles Schwab custodial platforms and related technology preferred
  • Strong ability to prioritize tasks, manage multiple workflows, and operate in a fast‑paced environment
  • Exceptional attention to detail with a high level of ownership and accountability
  • Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills with a professional, advisor‑facing demeanor
