This is not a typical deposit operations role. As a Payments Specialist, you will work across ACH, wires, debit card servicing, disputes, item processing, digital onboarding, and emerging payment channels. You will learn how modern payments work and build skills that are essential in a digital, tech-forward banking environment.
Deposit Operations at Core Bank is hands‑on, fast‑paced, and deeply connected to how the bank works. You will partner with Digital Banking, Treasury Services, Technology, Risk, and Compliance. You will help support system enhancements, workflow improvements, and UAT testing that shape the future of our payment experience.

Responsibilities Of The Payments Specialist Include- Execute assigned deposit and payment operations activities in accordance with established procedures, internal controls, and regulatory requirements.
- Support payment processing across multiple channels, including:
- ACH transactions and returns
- Wire processing support and investigations
- Debit card servicing, disputes, and transaction research
- Instant and emerging payment types
- Item processing, non‑posts, and adjustments
- Assist in coordination of onboarding and change requests for digital banking, treasury management online services, and/or fintech solutions, to ensure a seamless customer experience.
- Research and resolve payment‑related exceptions, discrepancies, and customer inquiries, documenting findings and escalating appropriately.
- Apply working knowledge of Regulation E, ACH rules, and card network requirements when reviewing transactions, disputes, and operational exceptions.
- Collaborate with the Digital Product Owner and cross‑functional partners to:
- Support system upgrades and enhancements
- Participate in user acceptance testing (UAT)
- Improve intake, handoffs, and operational readiness
- Review operational reports and dashboards to identify trends, recurring issues, risks, or inefficiencies and surface insights proactively to management.
- Identify opportunities to improve processes, controls, documentation, and tools; bring observations forward to management.
- Support implementation of payment process changes, system and regulatory updates, and operational enhancements, including testing support and documentation updates.
- Maintain accurate procedures, job aids, and reference materials for assigned responsibilities.
- Collaborate with Risk, Compliance, and Technology teams by providing operational expertise, information, and support as requested.
- Manage assigned responsibilities independently, meet deadlines, and follow issues through to resolution.
