Actuarial Associate / Senior Actuarial Associate – Product Management

Location:

Corporate Office - Omaha, NE 68131 US (Primary).

Employment Type:

Full‑time.

At Physicians Mutual, we’re looking for actuarial professionals who can help build, price, and manage health products such as Medicare Supplement. In this role you will use your analytical and problem‑solving skills to ensure our products are competitively priced, compliant with regulatory requirements, and support long‑term business growth.

What You’ll Do
  • Conduct experience studies and analyze data related to persistency, mortality, morbidity, and expenses.
  • Support product pricing and development by evaluating assumptions, profitability, and regulatory compliance.
  • Assist in preparing and maintaining rate filings, actuarial memorandums, and related documentation.
  • Contribute to re‑rating analyses and renewal rate setting, presenting findings to management.
  • Develop and maintain models using tools such as Excel or ALFA software.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to deliver accurate, timely information and actionable insights.
  • Provide mentorship or technical guidance to junior analysts (Senior Associate level).
What You’ll Bring
  • Bachelor’s degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or Economics.
  • Actuarial Associate: Attainment of ASA designation (or active exam progress toward ASA).
  • Senior Actuarial Associate: At least two years with an ASA designation.
  • Familiarity with individual health products, including Medicare Supplement, is a plus.
  • Strong analytical and technical skills, including proficiency in Excel and exposure to modeling or statistical tools.
  • Ability to communicate complex ideas clearly to both technical and non‑technical audiences.
  • Commitment to professional growth through exam progression and continuing education.
  • Team‑oriented mindset with a high attention to detail and accuracy.
