SummaryThe Community & Business Banker delivers personalized client service by holding financial conversations with clients and prospects to determine needs and provide appropriate solutions. This position is responsible for maintaining client relationships, with an emphasis on First Interstate Bank’s Service Commitments and in accordance with our vision and values.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Delivers personalized client service in person and over the phone by answering client questions, assisting with issues, and offering solutions.
- Opens and maintains a variety of products, including consumer and business checking and savings accounts, Individual Retirement Accounts, Certificates of Deposit, consumer and small business credit cards, and originates all types of personal loans.
- Processes new consumer and new small business loan requests.
- Conducts financial conversations with clients and prospects to determine needs and provide appropriate solutions.
- Identifies referral opportunities to other lines of business (e.g., Home Loans, Treasury Solutions, Merchant Services, Business Banking, and Wealth Management) while fully embracing and utilizing 360 View to document referrals and other client activity.
- Builds client relationships through outbound engagement and proactive measures.
- Performs teller duties as needed, conducting financial transactions such as check cashing, deposits, withdrawals, processing loan payments, and accurately counting currency and coin.
- Completes work accurately with minimal errors.
- Participates in volunteer activities and financial education efforts.
- Stays current on regulatory changes and demonstrates compliance with all bank regulations, policies, and procedures related to assigned job functions.

- Complies with the S.A.F.E. Mortgage Licensing Act of 2008 and related regulations.
- Background investigation results must be acceptable.
- High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) required.
- Associate’s Degree preferred.
- 1–3 years banking or related experience required.
