We provide end‑to‑end financial support driving AWS to be the low‑cost provider in Cloud computing and leader in customer experience. This includes supporting business owners in building, operating and innovating our Cloud datacenters.

We support operations, safety, security, business development, and engineering. You should be passionate about producing financial analysis enabling management to make breakthrough decisions, drive cash flow, and ultimately delight our customers.

• Serve as the key business partner working directly with AWS management and other internal stakeholders to provide financial recommendations.
• Report weekly and monthly financial and operating metrics.
• Manage the financial planning and month end close processes. Model, analyze and forecast metrics that drive budgeting, forecasting and business decisions.
• Perform detailed NPV analysis in support of Strategic Initiatives and goals taken by finance and business teams. Support financial analysis for ad‑hoc projects and as needed.
• Analyze business results for key takeaways to achieve business objectives.
• Monitor compliance with controls and systems, and develop new processes to support the fast‑growing AWS business.
• Prepare detailed financial models for business segments, drive business initiatives, and identify, implement, and deliver key operational efficiencies.
• Identify and lead projects to drive automation and process improvement.

• Work independently and self‑motivate in a fast paced and rapidly changing environment.
• Prioritizing workloads and partnering cross‑functionally, while delivering against tight deadlines.
• Developing/optimizing finance processes for speed, agility, and insight.
• Dive deep on ambiguous challenges and deliver actionable insights.
• Learn and be curious, deep diving complex business processes in a rapidly evolving and fast paced business environment.

• Interact with financial systems such as Cognos TM1.

• 5+ years of tax, finance or a related analytical field experience.
• Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, business, economics, or a related analytical field (e.g., engineering, math, computer science).
• Or Bachelor’s degree and 5+ years of quantitative role (engineering, process re‑engineering, quality assurance) experience.

• 6+ years of identifying incomplete or inaccurate data, identifying the root cause and creating/implementing an escalation plan experience.
• 6+ years of solving complex business challenges by delivering accurate and timely financial models, analysis, and recommendations that have a proven impact on business (e.g., financial savings, operational improvements, or customer benefits).
• MBA, or CPA.
• Experience working with large‑scale data mining and reporting tools (examples: SQL, MS Access, Essbase, Cognos) and other financial systems (examples: Oracle, SAP, Lawson, JD Edwards).
• Experience delivering forecasting, budgeting, and variance analysis, and data interpretation of results.
