Position OverviewSwift Public Adjusters is seeking a Finance and Accounts Coordinator to manage the financial operations of our growing public adjusting firm. Based in Story City, IA or Omaha, NE, this role owns end-to-end responsibility for accounts payable, accounts receivable, billing, payroll administration, and commission calculations. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, organized, and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment where accuracy and discretion are essential.
Compensation- $34,101 – $46,502 annually ()
- $14.81 – $25.03 per hour (Pay Scale)
- Compensation commensurate with experience
- Review all accounts payable and accounts receivable; maintain accurate and timely records for all transactions
- Prepare and send client invoices; ensure billing accuracy and timely delivery
- Collect payments and manage accounts receivable follow-up, including outreach on outstanding balances
- Identify and resolve billing discrepancies; elevate as appropriate
- Distribute accounting reports and financial summaries as directed
- Run and administer payroll on a timely and accurate basis using Quick Books Online
- Calculate and process employee and contractor commissions
- Maintain payroll records and support related reporting and compliance tasks
- Process and distribute incoming mail; perform document scanning, file sorting, and records retention
- Provide telephone operator coverage as needed
- Perform other related duties as assigned
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Ability to accurately and efficiently enter data into computer software and systems
- Proficient mathematical and arithmetic skills
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook)
- Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Professional discretion when handling sensitive financial information
- Proficiency in Quick Books Online (QBO)
- 1–2 years of experience in an accounting, bookkeeping, or finance role
- Associate’s degree or coursework in accounting, bookkeeping, or a related field
- 5+ years of experience in an accounting, bookkeeping, or finance role
- Experience with HRIS or ATS platforms (Namely or similar)
