Our client is seeking a Universal Banker to join their growing team. The primary function of the Universal Banker is to assist new and existing members with their short- and long-term financial needs. The Universal Banker will open accounts, process member transactions, administer account management, process IRA's and certificates, and originate consumer loans such as: credit cards, personal loans, and auto loans.
This position has a direct impact on organizational success through direct member interactions. To be successful in this role, you must be driven to meet established goals by building long term relationships and provide high-quality service with your members.
- Provide quality member service by building member relationships through the cross selling of products and services
- Accountable for compliance with regulatory requirements, auditing, accurate work, and individual performance goals
- Onboard new members through outbound calls, source new business, expand relationships, and ask for referrals. Process daily financial transactions (i.e. deposits, withdrawals, loan payments, advances, money orders, etc.) in an accurate and efficient manner
- Responsible for opening various accounts including but not limited to IRAS, HSAs, and Certificates, and administer account maintenance upon member request
- Originate and close consumer loans according to role expectations
- Provide support to the teller line
- Responsible for following opening and closing procedures for the branch
- Assist with maintenance of ITM's as needed
- Assist members with technical questions related to credit union mobile app, online banking, and ITM's
- Participate in community events and area networking to support and grow the brand
- Other duties as assigned
- A high school education or GED required
- Prior cash handling and customer service experience required; prior sales experience preferred
- Must communicate professionally with members and collaborate effectively across all departments
- Thrive in a fast-paced and team-oriented environment while managing frequent interruptions
- Demonstrate strong problem-solving skills with a high level of confidentiality and attention to detail
- Apply sound reasoning and maintains professional composure when handling sensitive or confidential matters, including interpreting regulatory procedures and documents
