What to expect in this roleYour manager is an excellent coach and has guided 10+ recent college graduates and early-career professionals. The team values storytelling when describing the company’s state of the union and the current business landscape. This role involves engaging with cross-functional teams and contributing to a high-quality finance function.
Relevant traits and focus areas- Someone who is naturally curious and asks why to develop a deep understanding of the business, explain fluctuations in actual vs. expected results, evaluate expenses and justify spend, and analyze ratios and drivers behind trends.
- Ability to connect information from cross-functional meetings to understand the bigger picture.
- A strong desire to learn and grow.
- Willingness to reverse engineer process improvements by digging into details, reviewing past actions, and streamlining future processes.
- Loves data and leveraging AI, Google, SQL, or other resources to design queries and understand data connections.
- High quality mindset; experience producing internal board packets and financial statements for key executives.
- Confident, not arrogant in demeanor.
- Finance, Accounting, Math, or Business Analytics degrees; statistics-heavy environment that emphasizes the "why" behind the numbers.
- A GPA you are proud to show on your resume.
- Internship or work experience during college demonstrating the ability to juggle multiple responsibilities.
- At least 2-5 years of professional experience post-graduation with progression or additional responsibilities.
- Examples of process improvements implemented in your current role.
- Experience mentoring or coaching interns or team members.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills for interactions with executives and external stakeholders.
