About This Opportunity
As a Trader, you will execute all day-to-day trading functions for advisors and clients, including mutual fund and ETF trade placement, rebalances, trade reconciliation, list bill processing, incoming cash allocations, trade rejects, and corrective trading within a workflow management-controlled environment. The role is focused on processing trading work and service issues with defined market cutoffs within a high-quality, regulated environment. It requires teamwork and close coordination with advisor service teams to provide industry-leading service with quality risk‑management controls.

It is anticipated that an incumbent in this role will work as a Hybrid employee
, with three (3) or more days each week required on-site at one of the listed office locations. Candidates should be located within a commutable distance to an office. Internal candidates currently aligned to an Orion office location may be given preference; however, internal candidates with varying work arrangements may be considered based on experience and business needs. Work location is subject to change based on business needs.
This Role, You’ll Get To
- Manage and oversee the trade flow process by processing all trading, cash, and allocation work for mutual funds and exchange traded funds, maintaining high quality within trading cut‑off times and within budget according to defined service level metrics while complying with regulations.
- Maintain documentation for all work processes and procedures.
- Make improvement suggestions and adhere to all approved work changes for the team.
- Cross‑train as required to meet changing business needs.
- Interact and partner effectively across all appropriate internal business teams and external clients.
- Participate in testing for projects as required by the team.
- Provide backup support for all work and project efforts as needed.
- Assist with team planning and growth strategy.
- Ensure execution of all industry and client‑specific compliance matters within the team.
- Has experience with financial portfolio management software (a plus).
- Has a minimum of a bachelor’s degree in Business or a related financial field.
- Has a Series 65 license or the ability to obtain it within 90 days of employment.
- Possesses a minimum of 2 years of trading and servicing team experience in mutual funds services.
- Preferably has experience in either Advisor Operations or Retirement Plans Service Operations.
- Owns and manages relationships with stakeholders directly and works effectively with people at all levels in an organization.
