Job Responsibilities- Assist in supervising, case planning, and monitoring offenders at high risk of reoffending, including recreational, home, educational, treatment, and community activities.
- Perform interviews for investigative reports, conduct curfew checks, drug testing, assessments, and assist offenders to retain employment.
- Assist with pre‑sentence investigations and evaluations of candidates for probation.
- Prepare, update, and submit a variety of reports and databases such as progress updates, court appearance paperwork, home‑visit logs, and location reports.
- Assist with monitoring offenders through electronic/GPS monitoring under the direction of a Probation Officer to ensure compliance with court regulations.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Minimum:
Associate degree or 63 hours of coursework from a four‑year college in related field, or equivalent education and experience (2 years of education and experience sufficient).
- Knowledge of probation services, federal, state, local laws and regulations, probation techniques, report writing, interviewing techniques, tracking technologies.
- Skills:
Home visits, interviewing probationers, tracking locations, applying laws, preparing activity reports, database updates, computer and software use, communication, interpersonal skills.
Travel may be required ht work—may need to exert up to 20 lbs occasionally, 10 lbs frequently. Exerting more force may require special accommodations.
Compensation and BenefitsStarting salary: $42,863.87 per year.
