Responsibilities
  • Integrate clinical athletic training responsibilities with doctoral-level research and coursework in Biomechanics and Kinesiology.
  • Evaluate, treat, and rehabilitate athletic injuries; assist with physical examinations; mentor athletic training students; provide practice and game coverage, including travel with the baseball team.
  • Work in the biomechanics pitching lab using technology and performance-monitoring resources to support athlete health, guide return-to-play decisions, and contribute to project design.
  • Collaborate with an interdisciplinary performance team—including sports psychology, registered dietitians, sports scientists, strength and performance staff, and the sports medicine team—to deliver comprehensive, athlete-centered care.
  • Engage in research through study design, data collection and analysis, interpretation of results, and scientific writing under faculty mentorship.
  • Expect nontraditional hours and a diverse set of responsibilities; position is renewable annually for up to four years based on performance.
Qualifications
  • Master’s degree required. BOCC certification eligible; must be certified by June 1, 2026 to begin appointment.
  • Must meet admission requirements for the PhD in Biomechanics and Kinesiology program and be admitted into the program before being eligible for an assistantship.
  • Required Certification: BOCC Certification, NE State License (or eligible).
  • Experience with men’s and women’s intercollegiate athletics.
