Job Title: Phlebotomist

As our Phlebotomist, you will play a vital role in determining patient diagnoses and treatment by expertly performing blood collection and specimen processing, ensuring the highest level of patient care. Daily responsibilities include obtaining and processing blood specimens via capillary or venipuncture, ensuring specimen integrity, proper disposal, and timely distribution to testing areas, while performing clerical duties and prioritizing patient comfort.

You will demonstrate precise clinical skills for blood collection and specimen handling with a genuine passion for helping others, exceptional attention to detail, strong organizational abilities, and a talent for making patients feel comfortable during blood work, all while adhering to lab turnaround times.

• Practice positive patient identification at all times in all job functions.
• Demonstrate Human Kindness and courtesy with patients and co-workers; establish and maintain clear communication within the department and with other hospital departments.
• Comply with isolation and hand hygiene procedures.
• Follow blood collection procedures; perform venipuncture and capillary punctures on all age groups in inpatient and outpatient settings; use appropriate techniques to obtain quality samples and meet volume requirements.
• Perform Blood Bank collections; follow written collection and Blood Bank banding procedures; maintain accuracy and legibility of records; adhere to specimen requirements.
• Maintain order and cleanliness of phlebotomy trays, stations, and storage areas.

• High School Graduate or General Educational Development (GED) upon hire
• Basic Life Support (CPR) within 90 days of hire

• 3 months phlebotomy experience in an acute care facility
• Phlebotomy Technician certification upon hire
