Job Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate CNA/CMA to join our team at Emerald Healthcare, a leading skilled nursing facility committed to providing exceptional care to our residents. The CNA/CMA will play a crucial role in administering medications, monitoring resident health, and ensuring a safe and supportive environment for all individuals under our care. This position offers flexibility with scheduling and is ideal for those looking to work on an as-needed basis.
Work Environment:
This position operates in a clinical healthcare environment.
Responsibilities:
Medication Administration:
Accurately administer prescribed medications to residents in accordance with facility protocols and physician orders. Ensure proper documentation of medication administration and report any discrepancies or issues to the supervising nurse.Resident Monitoring:
Observe and document changes in residents' conditions, including vital signs and any adverse reactions to medications. Communicate observations and concerns to the nursing staff and assist with any necessary follow-up actions.Health and Safety Compliance:
Maintain a clean and organized medication storage area. Follow infection control procedures and safety protocols to ensure a hygienic and safe environment for residents.Resident Support:
Provide compassionate and respectful assistance to residents, addressing their needs and preferences while fostering a supportive and empathetic atmosphere.Communication:
Collaborate with nurses, doctors, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate care plans and ensure that residents' needs are met. Communicate effectively with residents' families regarding medication-related concerns and changes in health status.Documentation:
Accurately complete all required documentation, including medication administration records, resident health observations, and incident reports. Ensure compliance with regulatory standards and facility policies.
Qualifications:
Education:
High school diploma or equivalent required. Additional relevant training or coursework in healthcare or medication administration is a plus.Experience:
Previous experience in a healthcare setting, preferably in a skilled nursing facility or similar environment, is preferred but not required.Certifications:
Current certification as a Nurse Aide (CNA) and Medication Aide (CMA) as required by Nebraska regulations.Communications:
Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to work collaboratively with a diverse team of healthcare professionals and build positive relationships with residents and their families.Physical Requirements:
Ability to lift and transfer residents as needed, and to perform tasks that require physical stamina and endurance.
Skills:
Strong attention to detail.
Excellent organizational skills
Ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
Proficient in using electronic health records (EHR) systems and other relevant technology.
