ABOUT THIS POSITIONThe Recovery Support Worker provides direct services and supervision to Next Step Program participants through building trusting and consistent relationships. Accomplishes and oversees the daytime Next Steps Program routine. Supports administrative and clinical staff as needed.
RESPONSIBILITIESA full job description will be provided for review during the interview process.
- Monitor and encourage participants during assigned working hours with a positive attitude, contributing
to a healthy and transformative environment. - Perform admission and discharge protocols as needed.
- Lead Next Step house meetings and meals as applicable.
- Manage RBLC receipt and storage of supplies.
- Provide emergency crisis counseling, problem-solving, and de-escalation when necessary.
- Exemplify Jesus Christ daily, sharing the gospel or praying with others as opportunities arise.
- Must have a high school diploma or equivalent, and must have demonstrated skills and competencies in treatment with individuals with a behavioral health diagnosis.
- Direct care staff must be 20 years of age or older and at least two years older than the oldest resident under the age of 20.
- Must be a team player, and have an excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- A solid, visible relationship with Christ.
- Two years of recovery experience with demonstrated competencies and skills in the treatment of individuals with a behavioral health diagnosis

Each day, Open Door Mission’s campus offers 917 safe, shelter beds to people experiencing homelessness, serves over 4,747 nutritious meals to feed the hungry, and provides homeless preventive resources to more than 1,000 people living in poverty to empower them to remain in their own homes.
