Job Description
American Traveler is hiring a Cath Lab Interventional Technologist with 3+ years of hospital-based Cardiac Cath/IR experience for an acute care setting utilizing Epic and Siemens equipment.
Responsibilities- Acute care hospital cardiac cath lab setting with 3 suites/labs
- Versatile lab that primarily performs interventional cases with cardiac inpatient add-ons, including STEMI readiness up to IABP stabilization
- Common diagnoses and case types include compression fractures, venous access, hydronephrosis, chest pain, pulmonary hypertension, shortness of breath, gastric ulcer, PE, and DVT
- Average of 4–5 cases per day
- Team consists of 3 Cath Lab Techs with a supervisor on shift
- Uses Siemens equipment, Epic EMR, and Apollo cardiac charting
- 4x10-hour day shifts, 7:00 AM–5:30 PM
- On-call coverage required after hours and on weekends across three campuses, all within 6–15 miles of each other
- Minimum of 10 weeknight call shifts and 2 weekend call shifts (1 IR and 1 Cardiac) required
- Holiday call coverage is expected
- 30-minute response time required to home campus; best-effort response time to the other two campuses
- Daily floating and on-call floating across all three campuses required
- Cardiologist hours are Monday–Friday 7:00 AM–4:00 PM; on-call coverage runs 4:00 PM–7:00 AM weekdays and 7:30 AM–7:30 AM on weekends
- Primary duties include intra-procedural circulating, supply management, medication administration, and sedation monitoring
- Lab is prepared to treat STEMIs and manage patients up to IABP stabilization
- Orientation is approximately 1 week, including on-call buddy call
- RTO must be requested upfront; no more than 7 days per 13-week contract, and no additional RTO will be approved after consideration
- Surgical greens (scrubs) are required; artificial nails are prohibited in all patient care areas
- A radiation badge is provided by the facility
- Candidates ideally located centrally between the three campuses given multi-campus on-call responsibilities
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in a hospital-based Cardiac Cath Lab and/or IR setting
- Active RCIS, BLS (AHA), and ACLS (AHA) certifications required; pending certifications are not accepted
- License required if applicable — active state or compact (NLC) licensure required at time of consideration; pending licenses will not be accepted
- Experience with Siemens equipment and Epic EMR preferred
- Candidates must reside at least 50 miles from the facility
- Candidates may not be currently employed full time, part time, or PRN at any facility associated with Common Spirit, including CHI and/or Dignity
- A valid driver's license is required for consideration
- 2 professional references required: one supervisor from within the last 12 months and one peer or supervisor from within the last 3 years, both including dates of employment and eligibility for rehire
- Candidates must not have been directly employed (full time, part time, or PRN) by any Common Spirit, CHI, or Dignity facility within the past year (those employed PRN through outside firms will be considered)
