Job Description
This is a field-based position, and candidates should reside within a commutable distance of the posted city.

Responsibilities

The Parkinson’s Disease (PD) Account Executive (AE) is responsible for maximizing business opportunities with approved on-market products (drug device combination) for the Parkinson’s Franchise. The PD AE will develop and maintain strategic business relationships with accounts through interactions with approved Movement Disorder Specialists, Neurologists, Advanced Practice Providers, Health Care Professionals, nurses, executive level personnel, department managers, and various other support staff.

Responsibilities include increasing education on product benefits/risks and awareness of current therapeutic gaps, developing new business and expanding current business, maximizing resource utilization, and increasing sales aimed at achieving the sales plan for the assigned Parkinson’s product portfolio. The PD AE will also focus on building and maintaining compliant working relationships with Parkinson’s Advocacy, support groups, and other groups that support Parkinson’s patients.

  • Delivers effective on-label technical and scientific presentations/sales calls utilizing approved data to highlight benefits and risks and create awareness of product solutions addressing gaps in the therapeutic area; aims to achieve sales quota.
  • Leverages opportunities to understand and address customer needs; builds and maintains relationships across accounts to create opportunities for patients and HCPs; partners with Abb Vie in-field and in-house teams to identify, design and/or adapt approaches and tactics.
  • Serve as lead US Commercial contact with targeted accounts in assigned geography; address customer and patient needs through expert knowledge of Abb Vie’s environment of care approach.
  • Creates, implements and communicates strategic and tactical plans for targeted accounts; monitors and reports sales progress; provides routine communications to stakeholders.
  • Attend and participate in local neurology society meetings, conferences, patient programs, support groups, advocacy events, etc., some in evenings or weekends; represent Abb Vie and assigned products; channel key information to internal partners; all discussions in these forums are within OEC and Legal guidance with on-label product discussions.
  • Develop business strategy, territory account plans, align resources to support tactic execution and adjust as needed.
  • Remain current on clinical, market, and payer developments, trends, and issues specific to Parkinson’s Disease.
  • Complete all Abb Vie required training and adhere to company policies and OEC/Legal procedures.
  • Meet HCIR credentialing requirements for entry into facilities and organizations in the assigned territory (e.g., background checks, drug screens, immunization/vaccination proofs).
  • Represent Abb Vie as a partner of choice in the Parkinson’s and Neuroscience space with HCP and patient organizations.
  • Driving a personal auto or company car, or a powered piece of material handling equipment.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in health, sciences, pharmacy or business-related field preferred or relevant and equivalent industry experience required.
  • 3+ years of health science field or sales experience with a minimum of 2 years in pharmaceutical sales. In lieu of degree, 8+ years of health science sales experience with a minimum of 4 years in pharmaceutical sales.
  • Demonstrated ability to network and partner effectively across functional areas.
