** Medical Physicist – Proton**. This role is ideal for someone with a passion for radiation oncology and a commitment to delivering exceptional patient care. The position is based at the
** Fred & Pamela Buffett Cancer Center – Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha, NE**.We are particularly interested in candidates with
** proton therapy experience**, strong analytical and problem‑solving skills, and excellent communication and teamwork abilities.

Our
** Mevion FIT Proton Therapy system
** is expected to begin upright patient treatments around
** March 2027**. We are recruiting a motivated physicist to join our
** 3‑FTE proton physics team in 2026**, within a Medical Physics Group that currently includes
** 10 medical physicists and 4 medical physics residents**.This position offers a unique opportunity to help build a new proton therapy program from the ground up. The selected candidate will receive proton‑therapy training, collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to design and implement clinical workflows, and contribute to the ongoing development of program operations. A
** faculty appointment at the University of Nebraska Medical Center
** will be granted.

Candidate must have Proton therapy experiences in treatment planning, machine and patient QA.
** ARIA and Raystation
** experience preferred and
** Photon and HDR
** experience are valuable

**** Medical Physicist – Proton

Description:

** Serve as Radiation Oncology Medical Physicist to support our Proton Therapy Program. Collaborating with clinical and medical staff on treatment simulation, planning, and the supervision of proton treatment delivery. Responsibilities also include performing equipment QA, coordinating quality and safety programs, working with service engineers, and contributing to clinical research efforts.

* Required Qualifications:

*** M.S. or Ph.D. in Medical physics or PhD in Physics required.
* Completion of a CAMPEP accredited residency in Therapeutic Medical Physics required.
* Acquire full A  Board certification in Therapy Medical Physics within 5 years of employment required.
*
* Preferred Qualifications:

*** Minimum two years Proton therapy experience is highly preferred.
* Experience in treatment planning with Ray Station TPS preferred.
* A  Board Certification in Therapy Medical Physics preferred
