Reports To: Recovery Technician Supervisor

Schedule: Thursday, Friday, & Saturday 6pm-6:30am

Compensation: $17-19/hour

Position Summary

As a member of the Northpoint team, the Recovery Technician attends to the safety and wellbeing of patients and collaborates with a multidisciplinary treatment team to provide the best possible care. The role supports program implementation, patient observation, structure of the milieu, and supervision of patients across various settings, including onsite facilities and community activities.

Essential Responsibilities and Duties
  • Interact routinely with patients, observe behaviors, and communicate significant observations to clinical staff.
  • Follow reporting and communication guidelines when interacting with staff and patients.
  • Ensure timely completion and accuracy of paperwork, including daily logs and forms.
  • Maintain daily schedules and structure, specifically around transport times, meal times, and transition periods.
  • Act as a member of the treatment team and conduct patient observation rounds and monitoring during scheduled shifts.
  • Attend and actively promote recreational outings and activities with patients; encourage pro‑social and coping skills.
  • Ensure the wellbeing of patients by providing a positive, supportive, and structured environment; respond proactively to patient needs.
  • Maintain facility cleanliness and upkeep under leadership direction.
  • Assist patients with their needs and collaborate with onsite clinical and medical staff as necessary.
  • Facilitate and assist with selected activity and education group sessions; document accurately per policies.
  • Oversee and manage safe, efficient transport of patients to and from facilities.
  • Assist in orientation of new admissions.
  • Use therapeutic communication skills and maintain professional boundaries with patients and families.
  • Model a positive culture for patients and staff by exemplifying professional attitude, language, and communication.
  • Assist with treatment and discharge planning.
  • Document client care and behavior information as required.
  • Use de‑escalation skills to maintain personal safety and protect clients and others during volatile situations.
  • Assist counseling and administrative staff in responding to emergency situations.
  • Maintain confidentiality per established policies and standards of care.
  • Adhere to all company policies and procedures.
  • Perform other job‑related duties as assigned.
Qualifications/Requirements
  • Minimum age of twenty‑one (21) years.
  • Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record.
  • At least one year of relevant work experience.
  • Proficient English usage, interpersonal relationships, and excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to implement and interpret departmental programs, goals, objectives, policies, and procedures.
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain strong personal boundaries and build rapport with patients.
  • Knowledge of the surrounding geographic area to ensure effective routing.
  • Organizational and prioritization skills to balance competing demands.
  • Competence in patient rights, safety, and sanitation.
