Position Summary
Our MRI Technologists work in a team setting to provide individualized patient care to a diverse patient population. They work directly with the patient to obtain medical history, provide a safe environment near the magnet, and obtain the necessary images for radiologist interpretation.

- Education:
Graduate of an A.M.A. approved radiologic technology school – required. - Licensure: ARRT (MR) – required.
- Certification:
Basic Life Support (BLS) – required. - Experience:
1+ years as an MRI Technologist – preferred. - Proficient with GE MRI equipment – preferred.
- Acquire appropriate MRI images for interpretation by a supervising radiologist.
- Responsible for starting IVs on patients requiring contrast.
- Assess patient compliance with physical requirements of exam, take medical history, and explain exam to patient accurately.
- Knowledge of general anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology.
- Effectively interact and communicate with patients, physicians, and other team members in a collaborative and professional manner.
- Accurately screen patients for potential safety hazards prior to exam.
- Responsible for quality control of images.
- Adapt and adjust to patient abilities and limitations to obtain required images.
- Screen patients for safety hazards prior to exam, obtain medical histories, and communicate effectively with patient regarding questions.
- Maintain stock and supplies necessary for department functions.
- Multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment.
- Maintain safe operations of equipment.
- Perform all other duties as assigned.
This position is classified as Medium Work in the Dictionary of Occupational Titles, requiring the exertion of up to 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force constantly to move objects. Physical demand requirements are in excess of those for Light Work.
