Job SummaryIn a career as an Orthopaedic Technologist, you join us in providing life‑changing care to patients from across the region. In this role, you will deliver patient care and assume appropriate responsibilities concerning all orthopaedic procedures, performing a variety of tasks including the application and removal of casts and splints, application of orthopaedic devices and removal of external orthopaedic hardware.
ScheduleFull‑time; 0830 AM‑5:00 PM Mon‑Fri or Mon 1:00 PM‑5:00 PM Tue‑Fri, 7:30 AM‑5:00 PM.

Responsibilities- Assists physicians and nursing staff with orthopaedic casting procedures, including the application and removal of various casts and splints.
- Performs routine examinations and treatment procedures under the direction of the physician, such as removing casts, cleaning wounds, and applying dressings.
- Assists under the direction of a physician in the clinical care of patients, including the application of mobilisation or immobilisation devices, braces, prosthetics, orthotics and othoses, adjustment of these devices, and fitting of canes, crutches and walkers.
- Collects patient history, including reason for visit, allergies, medications and medical history.
- Maintains a clean and orderly work area, sets up examination rooms, and prepares instruments and equipment for specific procedures.
- Provides direct care to patients and families within the area of practice.
- Provides telephone assistance as related to duties and responsibilities.
- Attends required staff meetings, continuing education, and mandatory in‑services in the relevant practice area.
- Demonstrates initiative, accountability, and efficient use of time and materials, including knowledge, self‑direction, and the ability to function within institutional policies, philosophies, and procedures.
- Promotes patient advocacy, ensuring patients' rights to privacy, safety, and confidentiality.
- Demonstrates flexibility in adapting to changes in policies or procedures.
- Promotes a positive team environment and willingly floats to satellite clinics to fulfill required staffing needs.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Graduate of an accredited orthopaedic technology program required.
- Minimum 1 year of experience in a hospital, clinic, office, or working directly in the treatment of orthopaedic patients required.
- BLS certification required.
- Working knowledge of using a personal computer and electronic medical records required.
