Position SummaryIn support of the research initiatives on the UNMC campus, this position will perform histological procedures for the Tissue Sciences Facility. Duties include tissue preparation, sectioning/staining, analysis and troubleshooting, as well as performing standard research techniques and operations.
RequirementsRequired Education
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Biological Science or related field
Will consider five years related education and experience combined of which two years must include related post‑high‑school education and a minimum of one year related experience.
Required Experience
- 1 year in histology and/or immunohistocytochemistry
Will consider five years related education and experience combined of which two years must include related post‑high‑school education and a minimum of one year related experience.
Required License

Preferred Education
- Biological science or related field

- Two or more years’ experience including IHC, IF, ISH, and FISH protocols
- Advancing experience in a research or clinical laboratory in pathology, biology or biochemistry
Preferred License
- Histology Technologist (HT), ASCP, and/or immunohistochemistry certifications (NSH/ASCP)
