Key Responsibilities

  • Assist clients with daily activities, including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility.
  • Provide companionship and emotional support to clients, fostering a positive environment.
  • Prepare and serve meals, ensuring dietary needs are met.
  • Administer medications as instructed and assist with basic health monitoring.
  • Help with light housekeeping tasks, including laundry and cleaning, to maintain a safe and tidy environment.
  • Escort clients to appointments, social activities, and errands as needed.
  • Observe and report any changes in the client's physical or emotional condition to the care team.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of services provided and communicate effectively with team members.
  • Participate in training and professional development sessions as required.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent; CPR and First Aid certification required.
  • Previous experience in caregiving or a related field is a plus but not required.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to establish rapport with clients and families.
  • Compassionate and patient demeanor, with a desire to help others.
  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
  • Proficiency in using mobile devices and basic technology for communication.
  • Reliable transportation and willingness to travel in the Omaha Metro area.
Physical Demands
  • Ability to stand, walk, and move throughout the day, including traveling to different client homes.
  • Capability to lift, transfer, and support clients, including helping them get in and out of bed, wheelchairs, or other assistive devices, which may require lifting up to 50 lbs.
  • Frequent bending, twisting, and reaching to provide care, perform assessments, and handle medical equipment or supplies.
  • Proficiency in using hands for tasks such as administering medications, using medical equipment, and performing procedures that require dexterity.
  • Ability to see and hear accurately to monitor client conditions, read medical charts, and communicate effectively with clients and team members.
  • Must be able to wear required PPE (e.g., masks, gloves, gowns) for extended periods as needed for infection control.
  • Ability to work in various environments, including client homes, which may involve different levels of accessibility, lighting, and temperature.
