Job Title
The Patient Care Technician (PCT) supports patients with end-stage renal disease by assisting clinical staff during dialysis treatments, ensuring safe and high-quality care as part of the interdisciplinary team.
Responsibilities- Participate in infection control, risk management, and patient education activities.
- Guide new patients through education plans.
- Obtain and record vital signs and machine readings.
- Assist with setup, breakdown, and access needle insertion/removal.
- Monitor patients, document changes, and communicate concerns.
- Calculate dry weight and organize work priorities.
- Maintain patient privacy, track inventory, and perform lab work.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
- Desire to collaborate with care teams.
- High school diploma or GED required; healthcare experience preferred.
- Skills such as CNA, EMT, medical assistant, CNT, or phlebotomy are desirable.
- Ability to participate in comprehensive training provided by DCI.
