Position Overview
Shift: First Shift (United States of America) – Medical Assistant / LPN
Location:
Fred & Pamela Buffett Cancer Clinic, Omaha, NE.Full Time | 0.9 FTE | 36 Scheduled Weekly Hours (Mon‑Fri, 8:00AM – 5:00PM, 4.5 days/week).

Medical Assistant Responsibilities- Provide high‑quality customer service to patients and others in a professional and engaging manner.
- Assist in daily clinical operations and provide assistance to physicians and support staff.
- Perform tasks within the scope of practice, including medication administration when required and basic life support duties.
- Help promote efficient operation of the clinic under the direction of licensed practitioners.
- Provide nursing care and identified clinical support tasks within the Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) scope of practice.
- Assist in the achievement of the patient's plan of care in conjunction with the registered nurse and/or medical staff.
Required Qualifications
- High school education or equivalent.
- Graduate of an approved Medical Assistant Program.
- Effective communication skills.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 30 days of hire from an American Heart Association (AHA) endorsed program. (Effective for hires starting January1,2023 or later).
- Current Medication Aid Registry listing or completion within first 30 days of hire (if required for medication administration).
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in a physician’s office.
- Experience in a related area.
- Ability to be bilingual in English and Spanish for certain clinics.
- Medical assistant certification.
- Medical scribe experience.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate from an accredited school/college of nursing.
- Effective communication skills.
- Initiative, teamwork, and flexibility.
- Licensed as a practical nurse in the state of Nebraska or have a current compact state license.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from an American Heart Association (AHA) endorsed program. (Effective for hires starting January1,2023 or later).
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in a physician’s office.
- Experience in a clinic setting related to oncology.
- Proficiency in a secondary language.
- Participation in performance improvement activities.
