Job Summary

A licensed clinical professional is responsible for providing comprehensive behavioral health services to children, adolescents, and families, primarily in a school-based setting, with potential service delivery in an outpatient clinical office setting. Responsibilities include assessment, treatment planning, and the delivery of evidence-based interventions to help clients manage symptoms, develop coping skills, improve functioning, and enhance overall well-being. The ideal candidate is a licensed clinician experienced in therapeutic modalities such as CBT, DBT, and trauma-informed care, with a strong commitment to ethical, client-centered practice.

Success in this role requires effective collaboration with school personnel, families, and multidisciplinary teams to ensure coordinated care and support positive student outcomes.

Essential Functions

Clinical Services (65%)

  • Conduct comprehensive mental health assessments and determine appropriate levels of care.
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans.
  • Provide psychotherapy and counseling services utilizing evidence-based therapeutic interventions.
  • Monitor client progress and adjust treatment plans as needed.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare providers and/or stakeholders to ensure holistic and integrated care.
  • Crisis Intervention
    • Respond to mental health crises and provide immediate support.
    • De-escalate crises and promote safety.
    • Facilitate and deliver critical incident response services and offer psychoeducation as requested.
    • Connect clients with appropriate resources and services.

Documentation (30%)

  • Maintain accurate, timely and confidential client records including progress notes, treatment plans, and discharge summaries.

Administrative Duties (5%)

  • Maintain productivity standards as required by program management
  • Participate in staff meetings and training
  • Assist with program development and evaluation.
  • Invest in regular networking with stakeholders and/or the community to promote the program and services, answer questions and ensure referrals.
  • Collaborate with administrative staff to ensure efficient operations.

Other Job Duties as Assigned

Schedule:

Full time. Flexible day schedule at school site: 7:00am to 3:30pm, 7:30am to 4:00pm. Community site would include early evening hours.

Job Requirements

Education

  • Master's Degree in psychology, social work, counseling, marriage and family therapy, or another human services related field

Experience

  • A minimum of one year of post-master's clinical experience with major mental illness, counseling/therapy, and/or substance use/abuse treatment

License/Certifications

  • Nebraska Provisional Licensed Mental Health Practitioner (PLMHP) or Nebraska Licensed Mental Health Practitioner (LMHP) required
  • Licensed Alcohol Drug Abuse Counselor (LADC) preferred
  • Certified Marriage and Family Therapist (CMFT) preferred
