Job Summary

Progressive Care Unit (PCU) Registered Nurse (RN) position in Omaha, Nebraska. The RN is responsible for delivering high-quality patient care by following established nursing care plans while supervising licensed practical nurses, certified nursing assistants, orientees, and other team members. The role emphasizes patient safety, effective communication, and interdisciplinary collaboration to ensure optimal outcomes.

  • Schedule:

    Night shifts, 12 hours per shift, with a minimum of 36 hours per week
  • Required Qualifications:

    Valid nursing license, Basic Life Support (BLS) certification, Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification (if applicable), at least 2 years of bedside clinical experience, and educational qualifications as per the organizations standards
  • Preferred Qualifications:

    Prior experience in a Progressive Care Unit or similar setting, strong clinical assessment skills, and excellent communication abilities
  • Responsibilities include performing nursing assessments within 8 hours of patient admission, developing and implementing individualized care plans, providing patient and family education, and actively participating in discharge planning. The RN will also document care accurately, participate in team conferences, oversee patient safety initiatives, and support a calm and efficient work environment.
  • The role may include charge responsibilities following orientation, with opportunities for professional growth through continuing education and self-study.
