The Clinical Support Staff Lead position is responsible for providing support and assistant to the Clinical Staff Manager by helping to ensure smooth and efficient daily operations of the Clinical Staff.

Essential Job Functions
  • Responsible for the training of new staff members and assists in providing education and continuing development to current staff members.
  • Act as a super user for Electronic Health Records (EHR) and other programs.
  • Ensure proper coverage and staffing levels throughout the day.
  • Complete inventory checks, review of supply levels, order supplies and inform manager of special departmental needs.
  • Complete daily check lists, logs, audit reports, and emergency equipment checks, to ensure safety, quality control, and emergency preparedness.
  • Work with members of the health care team to coordinate patient care services, including preparation of patients for examination or treatment, gathering of information including reason for visit and related patient information. Perform vital signs, height, weight, and screening procedures and document findings in the Electronic Health Record (EHR).
  • Ensure accurate documentation is maintained, relay instructions to patients, schedule follow-up appointments, and help ensure timely patient flow. Answer phone calls and respond to patient messages within set guidelines and time frames.
  • Collect and/or assist providers in collection of specimens, as required, using appropriate protocols. Complete requisitions, label and route specimens according to clinic protocol. Assist with special procedures and examinations following appropriate protocols as needed.
  • Adhere to infection control standards including, but not limited to, hand hygiene, use of PPE, isolation of patient with known infectious disease, and equipment disinfection/sterilization.
  • Maintain organization and cleanliness of examination rooms; stock assigned rooms/cupboards and ensure par levels of supplies are maintained. Ensure environmental and waste-conscious protocols are followed.
  • Complete medication refills in accordance with clinic protocol.
  • Coordinate patient needs by communicating with various service providers throughout the clinic. Remain accountable for information provided via internal communication channels (email, huddles, etc.) by reading and responding in a timely manner.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
  • Knowledge of patient care standards and practices to successfully complete essential job functions.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology.
  • Knowledge of HIPAA privacy rules.
  • Skill in communicating in a professional manner, both verbally and in writing.
  • Skill in planning, organizing, and time management.
  • Skill in using a computer and a variety of software, including Electronic Health Records (EHR) software, Word, Excel, Access, and Outlook.
  • Skill in managing multiple priorities and problem solving.
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure to meet established goals and objectives.
  • Ability to maintain high levels of professional and personal integrity.
  • Ability to convey professional demeanor and sound judgment in dealing with patients’ care, protection of patient privacy, and confidentiality.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
  • Ability to act as a good representative of the company.
Education & Experience

High school diploma or GED required. Must maintain active LPN license or Completion of Medical Assistant Program. An active medication aid, and American Heart Associate BLS/CPR certification required.
