POSITION: Emergency Medical Technician
SCHEDULE: Opportunities available on night shift
FACILITY: Douglas County Correctional Center
LOCATION: Omaha, NE
PAY RATE: $22-28/hr.

As an EMT, you'll play a vital role in providing emergency and routine medical care while supporting the health and safety of patients within a secure healthcare setting.

Position Summary

Working under the direction of the Director of Nursing and licensed clinical staff, you'll provide emergency and non-emergency patient care while supporting the delivery of healthcare services throughout the facility. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Conducting patient assessments, obtaining medical histories and vital signs, and documenting findings in the medical record
  • Providing treatments and procedures in accordance with medical orders, EMT protocols, and scope of practice
  • Performing screening, triage, and basic life support while responding to routine and emergency medical needs
  • Assisting with infirmary admissions, discharges, and ongoing patient care activities
  • Supporting physicians, nurses, and other healthcare staff in the delivery of patient care
  • Maintaining accurate documentation, monitoring patient conditions, and communicating changes to the healthcare team

You’ll go beyond emergency response.
You’ll provide compassionate care, clinical support, and timely interventions that help improve patient outcomes every day.

What You’ll Need
  • Graduate of an accredited EMT or Paramedic training program
  • Current EMT or Paramedic license in state of practice
  • Current CPR certification
  • Minimum of one (1) year of clinical experience preferred
  • Correctional healthcare experience preferred
