ROLE:

Provide mobile ultrasound services in various settings.

The majority of work is performed in multiple facilities throughout the region.

Travel to the location using a company-provided vehicle.

TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Login for self-dispatching or call the dispatch department to obtain information regarding the case load.

Arrive at the first case at the start of the assigned shift or leave home thirty minutes prior.

Unload portable sonographic equipment and take it into facilities to perform exams ordered by physicians.

Obtain clinically diagnostic and technically competent images.

Perform and process ultrasounds using portable sonographic equipment and send them digitally to a Radiologist for interpretation.

Check voicemail from facilities upon completion of assigned case(s) at least every thirty minutes.

Check for available cases via self-dispatching or by communicating with the dispatcher every thirty minutes.

Wear the company uniform and follow the company dress code.

Carry the company-provided phone on your person.

Respond to all urgent communications within fifteen minutes.

Attend meetings as required.

Verify all orders for accuracy against the exams listed in the patient's chart.

Ensure correct patient identification using two patient identifiers, such as name and date of birth.

Document the nurse's name when applicable and in the tech’s comments in the verification screen.

Facilitate any required patient transfers, support, positioning, and/or assistance with facility staff.

Ensure compliance with medical physical examinations, TB screenings, and annual infection control in-service.

Scan exam-related paperwork and billing daily.

Communicate efficiently with peers, supervisory staff, and clients.

Maintain vehicle and sonographic equipment.

Uphold high standards of medical ethics and motivate yourself to expand your understanding and knowledge in the field.

Report any equipment malfunctions to the supervisor immediately.

Train other technologists as required.

Demonstrate self-motivation, dependability, and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

Possess good organizational skills.

Perform basic smartphone and computer operations as required.

Demonstrate pleasant phone manners and strong interpersonal and communication skills.
