Position Summary

The Beverage Shift Supervisor is responsible for supporting the management of beverage operations and team members during assigned shifts. This role ensures high-quality guest service standards are consistently met through hands‑on leadership, effective staff training, and operational oversight. The Beverage Shift Supervisor plays a key role in maintaining service efficiency, driving team performance, and ensuring compliance with company policies and responsible alcohol service standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Practice, support, and maintain the Mission, Vision, and Values of War Horse Gaming.
  • Provide tools, training, communication, and resources necessary for beverage team members to deliver exceptional guest service.
  • Assist in scheduling beverage staff to ensure appropriate coverage for all operating hours and special events.
  • Monitor par levels and daily inventory of beverage supplies.
  • Maintain beverage inventory in alignment with business demand and operational needs.
  • Participate in weekly inventory processes and assist with ordering for beverage operations.
  • Ensure proper cash handling procedures, including balancing registers at the end of each shift and reporting discrepancies to Finance.
  • Authorize comp transactions in accordance with company policy.
  • Ensure prompt, efficient, and friendly service in all beverage operations.
  • Ensure compliance with responsible beverage service training (S.M.A.R.T. or T.I.P.S. Alcohol Awareness).
  • Participate in the development of drink specials and promotional offerings.
  • Stay current on beverage trends and service innovations.
  • Attend meetings and training sessions and ensure team compliance with required certifications and training.
  • Enforce all company, departmental, internal control, and regulatory policies and procedures.
  • Promote positive guest relations and strong employee teamwork.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications & Experience Required
  • Must be at least 19 years of age.
  • Associate degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Minimum three (3) years of food and beverage management experience.
  • At least one (1) year of supervisory experience in a high-volume beverage operation (casino, banquet, entertainment, or multi-venue environment).
  • Strong knowledge of POS systems and operational functionality.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite or similar software.
  • Understanding of financial management, budgeting, and operational cost control.
  • Knowledge of applicable health, hospitality, and food service regulations.
  • Ability to secure and maintain a Nebraska Gaming License.
Preferred
  • Experience in casino beverage operations or multi-outlet hospitality environments.
Certification Requirements
  • Serv Safe Certification
  • TIPS Alcohol Awareness Certification
  • Ability to obtain and maintain Nebraska Gaming License
