Based in Omaha, Nebraska, this role is ideal for an experienced HR professional who enjoys building relationships, solving problems, and making a meaningful impact on both employees and business performance.
As a Bilingual HR Generalist, you ll serve as the primary HR contact for our Omaha facility while partnering closely with the Director of Human Resources and company leadership to support HR programs, employee relations, compliance, training, and organizational growth initiatives. This position also supports safety activities and requires periodic travel to operating locations.

What You ll Do- Support recruiting, hiring, onboarding, and orientation activities across multiple facilities
- Serve as a primary resource for employees and managers regarding HR policies, procedures, benefits, and workplace concerns
- Support employee relations matters, including investigations, documentation, coaching, and issue resolution in partnership with the Director of Human Resources
- Administer employee benefits, leave of absence programs, and related employee support activities
- Maintain accurate employee records, personnel files, and HRIS data in compliance with company and legal requirements
- Support compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws, including required postings, recordkeeping, and reporting requirements
- Coordinate training, performance management, and employee development initiatives
- Provide bilingual communication, translation, and interpretation support in English and Spanish
- Support safety programs through training coordination, recordkeeping, documentation, and compliance efforts
- Assist with onboarding and HR integration activities associated with acquisitions and newly acquired facilities
- Prepare HR reports, support audits, and assist with special projects as assigned
- Travel periodically to company facilities as business needs require
- Follow company policies and perform other duties as assigned
- Bachelor s degree in Human Resources, Business, or a related field; equivalent education and experience combinations will be considered
- Minimum of 4 years of Human Resources experience
- Fluency in English and Spanish, including speaking, reading, and writing
- Working knowledge of federal and multi-state employment laws and HR compliance requirements
- Strong interpersonal, communication, conflict resolution, and problem-solving skills
- Proficiency with HRIS systems and Microsoft Office applications
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with professionalism
- Valid driver s license and acceptable driving record
- Ability and willingness to travel up to 25% as required
- SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, or SPHR certification
- Experience supporting multiple facilities or multi-state operations
- Experience in rail, railcar repair, manufacturing, transportation, logistics, or heavy industrial environments
- Familiarity with safety compliance programs, training coordination, and incident documentation
- Experience supporting acquisitions and workforce integration initiatives
